Epicenter Church’s roots were planted back in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s with a desire to minister to the young men and women stationed at Fort Bragg. Gardner Altman served as the Senior Pastor of what was then called Calvary Assembly of God. He and his wife Velma served faithfully for several decades, laying the foundation of our church today.
In 2006 Pastor Mark and his wife Kim made the decision to enter ministry full time as the Lead Pastor of Calvary. After years of prayer and fasting, the decision was made to change the name of the church to fit the vision: that the church would become an epicenter of change in our community and beyond. A church that seeks to serve others first and to carry the call of the Great Commission beyond the walls of our church.
Our church has grown from small gatherings in homes to two weekend services and hundreds of people who call this church home.  We understand the vision God has for this church and it’s members, and we are excited to see how you can be a part of it.
Below is a video from our 2011 relaunch of Pastor Mark and Pastor Altman, the founding pastor, talking about the transition from Calvary to Epicenter. “From what was to what is”. Pastor Altman is more excited about our future than ever before.
